Bud’s chosen charity is Parkinson’s UK. But what is Parkinson’s? And what does Parkinson’s UK do? Here’s your quick guide . .
Bringing people together
Every hour, someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson’s. Parkinson’s UK brings people with Parkinson’s, their carers and families together. It does this with a:
- network of local groups
- website
- free confidential helpline
Specialist nurses, supporters and staff provide information and training on every aspect of Parkinson’s.
Working to find a cure
Currently:
- one person in every 50 will be diagnosed with Parkinson’s
- there are over 10,700 people affected in the West Midlands alone
- there’s no cure for the disease yet
Parkinson’s UK is leading the work to find a cure. It’s closer than ever. The charity also campaigns to change attitudes and demand better services.
How you can help
Parkinson’s UK’s work depends totally on donations. We can help them find a cure, and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s. That’s why we need you to join us in walking the Three Peaks Challenge and enter Bud’s Run. If you can’t come along, please donate.
